Information Ko�yi�it is a full-time Professor(since 1989)of the Geological Engineering Department of the Middle East Technical University (METU). He took his B.S.(1969), M.Sc.(1972) and Ph.D.(1975)degrees on the Structural Geology-Tectonics from the Department of Geological Engineering, Ankara University AU).He has transferred from AU to METU in 1981. He has been in University of London and done some experimental studies on faulting mechanisms in 1982.He has also been a member of National Earthquake Council (2000-2006).His main areas of reserche and special interest are Structural Geology-Tectonics, Neotectonics, Active Tectonics and Earthquake Geology. He has about 80 papers published in both national and international journals. Ko�yi�it has recently been acting as counsellor of a research project concerned with the determination of geothermal systems and their relationships with the active faults in central and western Anatolia, Turkey. He has also been trying to complete fault map of the same region.
