Information
I have been a faculty member of Middle East Technical University (METU) since 2007 and currently working as an instructor in the Department of Geological Engineering. I received my BS (1999) and M.Sc. (2001) degrees in geological engineering at METU and Ph.D (2007) in seismology and geophysics at University of Arizona. My research mainly focused on broadband seismology to investigate earthquake source mechanisms and Earth structure with applications to tectonics. In the past, I have analyzed large strike-slip earthquakes that show complex rupture mechanisms. Also, I am currently working on receiver function analysis and anisotropic waveform modelling using broadband data collected in Tibet, California, Eastern Turkey and across North Anatolian Fault.
